My Valentines… DID NOT GO AS PLANNED!!!
Mike made reservations for us for dinner which I normally hate to do on Vday because of the pre-set menus and crazy high prices but he said this place didn’t have all of that… WRONG. Turns out we checked the site on Sunday night and not only a pre-set menu but at $150 PER PERSON. So we cancelled that asap.
Next, the poor guy tried to be sweet by ordering what seemed to be a really fabulous ring for me online. However, after opening it we realized it was cheap and not as nice as the picture. So we are returning it.
Last, as we met at the bus stop to ride home together after work, he looked at me with a confused look and said, “Did you get anything at work today?” The answer was No. The flowers he had ordered for me didn’t come on time.
What a mess.
We came home, put on our comfy clothes and walked up to the nearest burger place and had gourmet burgers, curly fries and milkshakes. Afterwards we stopped in a little bookstore where we looked through boxes of Piano sheet music where I wasthisclose to buying the Fleetwood Mac song book but settled on these two books. Then we walked hand in hand, all the way home under a light rain.
Sometimes things just don’t work out. And that is ok, because there may be a much better, more simple ending waiting for you. And there was for me…
